tomorrow 32 year-old Jason post own
competes in Las Vegas in hopes of
becoming the next Olympia men's physique
champion he'll compete against 15 others
from around the world post own has
worked hard for the last few years
toward this goal but he had hurdles that
he had to overcome in order to get to
the competition
Fox Wars photojournalist Raul Cantu
brings us his story it's gonna feel good
to get there just compete yeah this is
the first men's physique showdown at the
Olympia is pretty much the fitness
Superbowl of the world or more and a lot
of people associate the Olympia with
Arnold Schwarzenegger you know who won
at seven years in a row hundreds of
different kids this was just the
cheapest I was diagnosed with type 1
diabetes two years ago at age thirty and
I was like what I don't even know what
diabetes was and 100 I mean that's
perfect I literally boom lost 15 pounds
in one weekend and it can I continue to
lose more and more weight over the
months to come it was a big shot to me
whenever I was diagnosed because I was a
trainer for the previous eight years
very good and nice every time I eat I
have to check my blood sugar that's
probably about 12 to 14 pounds a day me
and my diabetic coach we agree that just
doing it manually right now and
injecting you know before meals and
testing before and after meals is the
best way to go as a diabetic is what you
have to do you I can eat carbs but the
object thing when I get on stage to be
shredded I'm going to have to create a
sensitivity to my insulin if I sat there
in load carbs and had a regular diet
like other competitors my insulin would
not work as well and I would be bloated
on stage yeah I mean of course you get
you get upset at your fault sometimes
so that I learned how to deal with it
and I can be the best type one diabetic
possible I wanted to start helping other
people Jerry has lost 138 pounds not
glad that I was diagnosed with type 1
diabetes but I'm sure as heck not gonna
whine about it you know I'm gonna do the
best that I can with it and you know
it's it's been great so far
