when I was first diagnosed I didn't
really know a lot about the disease and
and so I was actually thinking I was
going to die Nick Jonas was just 13
years old and on the verge of a massive
music career when he found out he had
type 1 diabetes there was a lot of fear
I came in and also came at a point my
life where things were really starting
to get going with the brothers and to
have this thing interrupted that was
heartbreaking but he was determined to
not let the diagnosis stand in the way
of his dreams it's been a day-to-day
learning experience from the day I was
diagnosed just how to deal with it all
and you know for me it's about having
the right tools and the right people in
place in my life to help me deal with it
one of the tools is Dexcom CGM it's a
lot of people don't know about but it's
a continuous glucose monitor you know
it's like a part of my everyday life
which is one of those things where it
just makes it that much more simple and
feels like you have a friend looking out
for you and if this shirtless selfie
wasn't a sign before nick is proving
diabetics can be jaw-droppingly fit I'm
the best help I've been and I'm feeling
really good anything really in life that
that is a challenge for you for me
specifically it's my diabetes but that
you know you can do what you want with
your life and you can be happy plus he's
got plenty to be happy about including a
starring role on scream queens this fall
and his upcoming live in concert tour
it's been a great year and a half
between the music and the acting and I'm
just ready to get out there and play for
them and have some fun
